A little bit about me!

My passion is documentary wedding photography! I enjoy capturing organic and candid moments that speak to the heart of your event.

In fact, I absolutely love the art of photographing people in all kinds of situations and events, regardless of the context! Whether it's capturing the innocence of toddlers, the character of adults, the playfulness of kids, the companionship of pets, the intimacy of couples, or the vibrancy of events, I take pride in what I do. What truly makes my profession so fulfilling is the privilege of being part of countless moments of something real. It never feels like a job to me; rather, it feels like being a welcomed guest.

It all started for me over 20 years ago in 2004 when I picked up my first camera, an old analog SLR camera from the late ‘70s, while studying to become a film-maker and visual designer. Photography soon turned from a hobby into an obsession to learn everything there was about cameras. After several years, that obsession eventually led me to upgrade my equipment and try my hand at shooting a friend’s wedding. Needless to say, it could have gone better! But you live and learn, and here I am today. I started the Candid Crow Photography Company and to this day I’m pursuing my goal of working for myself, while doing what I love.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for crows! I love how graceful they fly but on the ground their hopping and running are comical. They are so much smarter than most people know. So many people think they are evil or a pest but in reality they have highly evolved social lives. I fell in love with them in the PNW, sharing a few lunches with them at Rialto Beach.

Nope, just winging this and crossing my fingers every day. Kidding.

I have my LLC and carry liability insurance! You'd be surprised how many "professional" photographers don't! I also have my Part 107 Drone license.

Who, me? I fall asleep every night reading (probably) fiction and waking up every morning to two cups of coffee and my 4-year old. My daughter is everything to me. Somehow I don’t have enough photos of her though. I listen to a lot of indie rock since the 90s are over, and try to keep my TV intake to a minimum. I’m also a firm believer in returning shopping carts and trying to avoid using plastic.

Oh, and I love shooting street photography when I have the chance, or just nature in general. I feel like that documentary approach trickles down into the way I shoot weddings. Hell, sometimes I even torment myself and shoot with a manual lens. Yup.
